Steven has developed his unique style of pastel portraiture over many years of experimentation. People, faces and figures, and capturing their personality, likeness, and the life within is Steven’s gift. His mastery of the pastel medium can create a strong, bold image or a soft subtle image that gently emerges from the paper.
Steven works primarily from photographs. Creating your portrait from photographs makes it easy and convenient for you to order your personal commission. Each portrait is treated with extreme care and detail, making it a valuable work of art that will be cherished for generations.

Personal portraits order information
Required:
One or more good quality photographs. Larger, professionally shot photos work the best.
Mailing your photos:
For valuable photos it is best to consult a professional shipper, i.e. Mailboxes Etc. for safe methods. For normal photo shipping, place photos between two pieces of corrugated cardboard (corrugation running opposite directions) into a padded mailing envelope. Print on outside, with bold marker (Photos: PLEASE DO NOT BEND). Don’t forget to insure your package. Unless you request otherwise, your photos will be returned to you packaged with your finished portrait.

Pastel full color or one color portrait, single face: $199.
Surface is tan velour paper: 19”X26”
Faces are portrayed slightly smaller than life size with shoulders lightly suggested. Individual quotes can be given for larger or more detailed portraits.
For group portraits, multiply single portrait price by number of faces.
